Since January 1st. it has been a REAL life.  The first few days the weather was awful but we got to celebrate Brent’s birthday January 1st & played lots of games.   We had a great meal with Patty & Bob Pickles & very much enjoyed their company in their outstanding home.  Just when we thought we would leave Duendin our propane gas system malfunctioned necessitating staying until Monday, Jan 6th for the replacement alarm system so we tripped over to Tarpon Springs for a visit & biked over to Honeymoon Island for a lunch & walk on the beach.  Brent, Susan, Bev & I thoroughly enjoyed the experience until the return bike trup.  Bev caught her bike handlebar in the bridge guard rail throwing her to the ground against the cement curbing on the opposite side of the bike/walkway splitting her head open about 3” X ½”.  She was rushed to the hospital, received 6 stiches & 4 hours later we arrived @ the marina in not the best of shape.  Monday & Tues the wind blue like H while Bev rested, the propane sensors were fixed & Em dealt with the Gyro importer bozos.  We finally departed Dunedin Wednesday, Jan 8th for Gulfport arriving in the afternoon on anchor.  Em dragged the other three poor souls all over Gulfport/St. Petersburg looking for a fix for the shipboard computer navigation system.  A short visit to Gulfport to check out the town turned out to be an all day event but worth it for the pizza at the days end.  Friday, January 10th we departed Gulfport for Sarasota & John Ringling Musium arriving in the afternoon to moor out for our first time @ Marina Jack’s in downtown Sarasota.  Saturday we first checked out the farmer’s market where we had breakfast followed by a bus to Ringling’s where we spent all day & were exhausted at the end of the day.  Poor Bev was especially done in as she fell twice more the day earlier the first time while cleaning the boat at which time she again hit her head knocking her dizzy & the second time tripping over an uneven area in the town sidewalk.  She was dizzy & head ach all the following day @ Ringlings.  Sunday we rested, did laundry, walked the town checking out the “Thunder by the Bay” bike meet & games at night.  What a great time we’ve had with Brent & Susal!

Today, Monday, January 13th we headed for Englewood & a visit with Roger & Cindy Lavallee.  We left Sarasota @ 10:00 AM after a pump out & taking on water.  The computer fix is working well but I prefer the old one with the trackball on the keyboard.  We arrived @ 3:00 PM & got to see their new home, meet their neighbors & of course eat out (WE LIKE TO EAT).  They do have a lovely home here & should enjoy it for some time to come.  We will be visiting here a couple days then on to Ft. Myers where we will again meet up with Brent & Susan & Arch whom you may remember from the trip down the Tenn-Tom and the Gulf crossing.
