Jan 30th – Another day on the dock @ Sunset Bay Marina in heavy rain & fog

Jan 31st  – Finally found a nice day to journey from Stuart to Ft. Pierce.  It was a fun ride & we really enjoyed waving to Joanne & Terry Parkinson as we passed under the Jenson Beach Bridge.  We tried driving into the slip but could not get off the boat so had to back in & you can guess how much fun that is.  Bev had to have a drink after signing in so we stepped into the on-site restaurant where we were hailed by Betty & Lenny Mellon.  We had a nice couple hours at the bar & on the boat catching up.

Feb 1st – Rented a car for the weekend to run errands & get to Terry & Joann’s for the Super Bowl.  At 3:00 PM we met up with the Parkinsons & Mellons for lunch & had a fun several hours.

Feb 2nd  – Ran some more errands & headed to the Parkinsons @ 2:30 PM to watch the Super Bowl.  Got there @ 3:00 PM but could not get them on the phone & the gate guard would not let us in so after an hour we headed back to the boat with a stop @ Strawberry’s Ice Cream Shop.  We watched the fantastic game on the boat & couldn’t be happier with the outcome.

Feb 3rd to 5th – Spent the days working on the boat & walking errands.  Em started installing the depth finder on the dinghy while Bev did some cleaning. Em took a quick jaunt 1 ½ miles to the mail service, back to West Marine 1 mile & back to the boat.  One afternoon we spent a ½ hour in the pool.  Wednesday we cleaned the exterior & got ready for Ginny’s arrival.  Getting everything stashed for Ginny was quite a project.  She arrived about 3:30 PM & of course Bev had to take her to the marina bar for supper & ???.

Feb 6th– 9th  We stole Ginny’s car & kidnaped her.  We then took her to Kennedy Space Center for the dreary, dressily, cold day but it was fun & interesting.  Friday Feb 7th we walked downtown Ft. Pierce checking out the shops & watching the Manatees @ the town marina.  We then drove over to Hutchinson Is. to walk & check out the beaches & had ANOTHER ice cream @ Strawberries.  Thought we would swim in the pool but it cooled down to much so we played another game of Dominoes.  Feb 8th started very foggy so we went to Ft. Pierce farmers market for breakfast then off to Cape Canaveral again to see what we missed Thursday.  We were surprised they would not let us in but we did go to the Astronaut Museum then drove through Melbourne & had a late lunch.  Ginny confirmed she would be leaving in the morning for home.  Feb 9th up @ 6:45 AM & saw Ginny off @ 7:15, a very sad moment.  We had showers & did laundry while catching up on contacts with Spooky, Ronnie, Lil etc.  Late in the afternoon we walked over the North Hutchinson Bridge & found a park on the other side.  It was a good walk about 3 miles.

Feb 10th – 12th  Today the 10th we sanded & varnished the cap rails for the last time (for now).  Them EM scraped the swim platform pulleys & sanded the flag pole applying a coat of varnish to them.  Later we walked to West Marine & Publix for supplies.  Had a great supper of Mango Chicken.  Feb 11th Em installed a new water filter on the boat replacing the one there that leaked like a sieve.  We them sanded & varnished the flag pole & pulley blocks

Feb 12th – 15th  We headed for Tunk & Carol Barrows at The Villages today Feb 12th where we meet up with Bill & Sue Ober.  We had a great supper & played cards.  Thursday we were shown around The Villages by Tunk & Carol & generally enjoyed one another’s company.  Friday Feb 14th we said good-by & traveled over to visit with Bev’s cousin Barbara.  We had a nice lunch, visited, walked & went out to supper.  It was a fun time.  Saturday morning we headed back to the boat arriving around lunch time & busied ourselves there for the rest of the day.

Feb 16th – 19th  Sunday the 16th was a lazy day on the boat.  The 17th was Presidents day so ran some errands & made some contacts on work to be done on the boat.  Tuesday Em spent 4 hours cleaning the engine of oil etc. for our engine test tomorrow.  Wed the 19th we were up @ 6:30 & @ the pump out dock @ 7:30.  Rich, the engine guru arrived @ 8:30 & off we went for the engine trials with the 4 blade prop.  Quimby ran flat out  @ 2550 with an average kts of 8.0 (7.1 against & 8.9 with the current).  Next we headed to Cracker Boy Boat Works for haul out  & bottom wash.
