March 21st – Today was another fun day.  We worked on the boat the first part of the day Bev cleaning the woodwork & Em the rust on the stainless steel.  In the afternoon we biked to the natural vitamin store for Dr. Oz drink supplies, Publics & CVS.  Spent a quiet night on the boat mostly reading.

March 22nd – It is the big day sea trial the boat with all the engine changes & the re-pitched three-blade prop.  Thanks for the curse Spooky.  Yesterday was in the upper 80’s & humid.  We went for a sea trial on the boat in the AM & of course they found more issues to address.  Next we went downtown to a seafood festival for lunch – not so good.  Hit the pool to cool when we returned then took a nap.  Ended the day playing cards with Steve & Liz Kemper & of course the girls won.  Since they were happy it was a happy ship.

March 23rd – Launched the dinghy this AM then attached the 2nd zinc from the dinghy we didn’t get installed @ Cracker Boy.  We were anxious to see if we still had a water leak after re-seating the drain plug. Well no more water leak but we have an air leak.  It will just have to wait till we get back to Wick ford.  We played dominos with Pam & Allan Kelley our Marine Trader neighbors 2nd boat over.  We started the game @7:00PM & didn’t finish until 11:00 PM, way past our bedtimes. They brought Tobey their chowowa with them & Bev & I took turns stroking him.  He reminded us of Giuseppe.

March 24th – Rich was back to replace the belt tensioner pulley & align the engine.  It went well although he did find a couple minor problems with the transmission that were not serious now but bear some watching.  We paid our balance with Florida Marine Diesel & Inlet Marine Systems hoping that is the end of Quimby maintenance expenses for a while.  We had a very good lunch with Lenny & Betty Mellon at Norris Restaurant.  The ribs were wonderful but we were sorry Terry & Joanne Parkinson were ill & could not make the party.   Bev invited Brent Anderson, & Liz & Steve Kemper to Quimby for supper & Cards. She prepared a linguini & shrimp meal to die for & we had sore midriffs from the laughs during the card games. LOTS OF FUN!

March 25th – Two days to go & we’re off.  OOPS! Change of plans – weather you know!  We will be off Sat March 29th instead.  Bev had a complete hair job today then we went to Buoy 12 for lunch to show it off.  We were trapped in Liz & Steve’s car after lunch & forced to accompany them to Vero Beach Kilwins Ice Cream Store where Brent’s car was.  I can’t believe they would make us do such a thing. And then Brent had the gaul to give Bev chockalotts to bring back to the boat.  Good thing we planned to have salad & only salad for supper.

March 26th – A windy, rainy day, a good day to laze around on the boat so that is what we did.

March 27th – Spent the morning on the computer & reading. After lunch Em biked to town for pills @ the natural stone, Ace Hdwe, CarQuest, & Tillman’s for ribs. Then we met @ the grocery & home. It was about 12 mile round trip by bike & 11/2 miles walk.  That was not enough to offset the BBQ ribs, pulled pork chile, potato salad & slaw supper. Needless to say we ate way too much.

March 28th – Today is Friday, the day before our departure so lots to do. Emptied trash & port-a-potty, laundry, groceries, hoist dinghy, fill water tanks, check oils etc., stow bikes & trailer & what else?  We will eat our last meal @ Harbortown Marina tonight at the restaurant having raw oysters, peal & eat shrimp & maybe a cup of conch chowder. It’s a real tough life down here! We can’t wait to come back. Met up with Bob & Loretta of Carol Anne @ the restaurant & ate with them.  It was fun to see them again.  We had anchored with them in the Bastard Is. of Georgian Bay.

March 29th – OH OH!  We’re still Here???? Weather remember?   Turns out heavy winds are coming Sat & Sun with some rain & thunderstorms.  We’re paid through Tues & beyond but will depart Monday AM. What’s the hurry? We like it here. We’re off to the Farmer’s Market with Liz & Steve & Head & Foot tonight.

March 30th – What a beautiful day!  About 75 & blue sky.  It’s the end of the day & no wind.  The forecast was for 15 MPH wind gusting to over 20 starting this PM.  Guess we should have followed Dirk out of the sip this AM. Did some computer homework on the boat & fixed the motor mount bolts/nuts per Tim.  Off to the grocery this PM & them a nap. We should be nice & rested for setting out tomorrow.
